Explain Interrupt and Exception ?
Introduction
Interrupt को मुख्य रूप से किसी भी proportional event के रूप में define किया जा सकता है। जब input/Output Device में कोई data active रहता है तब CPU एक Interrupt को रन करता है। CPU ही Current instuction को पूरा कर लेता है। Instruction मिलने पर CPU Input और Output Device से data को पढ़ता या लिखता है। ऐसे Interrupt जो CPU के बाहर से signal देते हैं उन्हें hardware Interrupt कहते हैं। Interrupt की time का utilization किया जा सकता है।
Interrupt (व्यवधान क्या है? )
Definition : व्यवधान (Interrupt) एक ऐसी facility है जिसके द्वारा किसी भी interrupt को speed देकर interrupt signal दिया जा सकता है।
● interrupt एक ऐसी condition होती है जिसके कारण processor को कुछ समय के लिए दूसरा task करना पड़ता है और जब वह task पूरा हो जाता है तो वह वापस अपने पहले वाले task को execute करता है।
Types of Interrupt
Interrupt के तीन प्रकार होते हैं वो normal Program execution में break करते हैं -
- External Interrupt
- Internal Interrupt
- Software Interrupt
External Interrupt (बाहरी व्यवधान क्या है?)
External Interrupt की उपपत्ति I/O Devices से होती है जैसे - Timing Device, Circuit monitoring power supply तथा किसी external source के द्वारा। External interrupt तब उत्पन्न होते हैं जब I/O Device को data transfer को request किया जाता है। किसी भी process के time खत्म होने पर timeout interrupt वैसे program का result होता है। जहाँ endless loop होते हैं एवं इसका execution time खत्म हो जाता है जिससे power failure interrupt की उपपत्ति होती है।
Internal Interrupt (आंतरिक व्यवधान क्या है?)
Internal Interrupt की उपपत्ति instruction या data के illegal use से होता है। Interrupt किसी भी internal error के कारण होता है जैसे कि registor का overflow, किसी भी नंबर को 0 से भाग (Divide) करने पर कोई भी invalid operation code stack के overflow तथा protection के rule को न मानने पर इस तरह का error साधारण instruction के procedure termination का कारण होता है।
Software Interrupt
Software Interrupt की उपपत्ति instruction के execution से होता है। software interrupt एक special call instruction की तरह होता है इसका use programmer के द्वारा program के किसी भी point से interrupt call करने के लिए किया जाता है। software Interrupt का साधारण use supervisor call instruction में होता है।
■ Advantages of Interrupt : यह processor की क्षमता को बढ़ा देता है और waiting time को घटा देता है।
■ Disadvantage of interrupt : Interrupt को handle करने के लिए बहुत सारा कार्य करना पड़ता है। और पिछले programs को resume करना पड़ता है।
Exception (अपवाद क्या है ?)
ऐसे Internal events जो microprocessor को अपने normal कार्य छोड़कर दूसरे कार्य करने पर मजबूर कर देते हैं उन्हें exception कहते हैं। Software interrupt को भी exception माना जाता है।
